Sticking up for students

Thursday, April 12, 2018

All over University of Waterloo, Post-its are popping up to encourage students during one of the more stressful times of the year, and the idea stuck to the Library's Student Engagement committee.

Inspired by encouraging messages posted in departments across the university, Student Engagement Committee co-chair Mary Lynne Bartlett and some of her student Library Ambassadors got to work at spreading the love in the Davis Centre Library:

The Library wants students to know - YOU ROCK!

But Library staff aren't the only ones cheering on the students at the Davis Centre Library.

Andy Cho is finishing up his degree in Computer Science, moving to Seattle this summer, and has literally been leaving his mark around campus during his final weeks at Waterloo. Cho has been leaving adorable drawings with punny and inspirational messages around the Library. The illustrations have become so popular with students and staff, Cho has donated a large collection of these hand-lettered mini works of art to the Library, and they will be on display from April 13 to April 27 in the lobbies of Dana Porter and Davis Centre Libraries. Take a break from your studies to drop by and check them out!

You can find more of Andy's work on his Instagram account. For more positive vibes from around the university, check out #StickyNoteSupportUW!
