Upon returning to Canada, Spencer published an article dealing with the Soviet Union across three volumes of The Canadian Student, from November 1931 to January 1932. Like with his lectures and interviews, the piece is similarly optimistic in its outlook of the first five-year plan and the Soviet Union's state of progress.
