Teams and competitions

There are currently two teams in which Management Engineering students participate regularly. Click on the links below to find out more.

Industry 4.0 logo

The Industry 4.0 Team has been formed to provide an enhanced learning environment for the University of Waterloo’s Management Engineering students, and to inspire young students in grades 11 and 12. As a part of this team, we are developing a high school virtual competition using the web, focusing on management engineering concepts – process and flow analysis, and turning data into information. The team’s activities provide the team members the opportunity to learn and practice the organizational soft skills needed upon graduation, as well as advanced technical knowledge and skills associated with the data analysis of Industry 4.0 situations. The team is focused on data analytics in situations where the Internet of Things (IoT) is prevalent, or will be prevalent, and uses the Industry 4.0 context as the learning platform. The same problems exist in healthcare, law enforcement, and almost any situation when you look closely.
