Case days

First-year Management Engineering students participate in a variety of impactful, hands-on learning experiences in MSE 100. These include tackling real-world challenges through "Case Day" activities, such as financial technology investment scenarios and an interactive "Supply Chain Game" that examines supply chain complexities using optimization and analytical tools. Past Case Day projects have involved:

  • Analyzing campus electricity consumption and Ontario's electricity grid emissions to propose sustainability improvements aligned with the University's net-zero goals.
  • Exploring design thinking to develop insurance solutions for chronic conditions, in collaboration with the SunLife Innovation team.

Supported by the IDEAs Clinic and industry partners, these initiatives showcase MSE's dedication to experiential and innovative learning.
