This concert will be a celebration of music written by Felix Mendelssohn, playing repertoire originally written for our instrumentation, including Trio no 1 opus 49 - arranged from the violin/cello/piano version for flute/cello/piano by Mendelssohn himself!

Wendy Wagler is an accomplished soloist and orchestral musician.  she holds the principal flute chair in the Kitchener Waterloo Chamber Orchestra and freelances with many ensembles.  Additionally, she is a founding member of the Springdale Trio and flutist for the KW Woodwind Quintet.  She has directed flute master classes throughout Southwestern Ontario and maintains a full teaching schedule at the Renaissance School of the Arts and Heritage College.

Cathy Anderson was a member of the former KW Symphony and now plays in the Bremen String Quartet which performs frequently in the area.She earned a Master of Music degree at Yale University under the tutelage of Aldo Parisot. Cathy has performed in concert with the St. Lawrence, Penderecki and Borealis String Quartets, and has recently played for the Drayton Festival.

Pianist Beth Ann de Sousa is a founding member of the New Art Quartet and has performed frequently with the former K-W Symphony Orchestra and the Canadian Chamber Ensemble.  An expereienced choral accompanist, Beth Ann has worked with numberous conductors including Mario Bernardi, Bernard Labadie, and Robert Shaw.  Beth Ann is the accompanist in residence at Laurier University.  She teaches collaborative piano courses as well as co-ordinating the chamber music program.
