Community engagement

The Department of Music engages the community in many ways!

Noon Hour Concerts

A quartet plays in the Grebel Chapel during a noon hour concert

The Noon Hour Concert series, sponsored by the University of Waterloo Music Department at Conrad Grebel University College, presents performances by local and international talent. These free concerts are presented in the fall and winter terms and feature classical, jazz, world music, and contemporary works. Noon Hour Concerts take place on most Wednesdays, 12:30 to 1:20 pm, in the Conrad Grebel University College Chapel. See upcoming events for more details.  The Noon Hour Concerts are being held online in Fall 2021.
The Noon Hour Concert series has no admission fee and is supported by donations to the Grebel Fund.  For details on how you can get involved visit the Donation webpage.

Public concerts

The Department of Music has six ensembles that each present one concert at the end of the term: University Choir, Chamber Choir, Jazz Ensemble, Grebel Gamelan, Instrumental Chamber Ensembles, and the orchestra@uwaterloo.  See upcoming events for more details.  These concerts will still be online in Fall 2021.
