Noon Hour Concert: Wondrous Winds

The music of Debussy, Pierné, LeFebvre, Milhaud, Pessard, and
Taffenel.

The KW Woodwind Quintet members are well known to the local music community.  The members are:  
Wendy Wagler, flute
Sarah Cardwell, oboe
Barbara Hankins, clarinet
Trevor Wagler, horn
Oskar Martinez, bassoon

The program consists of music by French composers from the late 19th and early 20th Century who were connected to the Conservatoire de Paris either as teachers or students. Claude Debussy, Gabriel Pierné, and Paul Taffanel were part of the turn of the century French Renaissance movement.  They all influenced the development of woodwind performance, repertoire, and education.
