Sonja Seiler headshot

The Music Department is delighted to welcome Sonja Seiler to the Grebel community as the new Music Ensemble and Concert Coordinator. Sonja brings nearly two decades of experience in arts programming, student support, and event coordination, grounded in a deep passion for the performing arts and community building.

 
With a background in professional opera and classical voice, along with a BA in Theatre and Drama Studies, Sonja combines artistic insight with exceptional organizational and leadership skills. Her extensive experience at Canada’s National Ballet School included overseeing the wellbeing and programming of over 200 students in a residential setting, coordinating complex schedules, and leading teams in dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Colleagues describe Sonja as warm, empathetic, and highly organized, with a talent for building strong relationships and creating meaningful, engaging experiences. She is a confident leader who thrives working both independently and collaboratively, and is known for executing detailed events with creativity and care. 


In addition to her institutional experience, Sonja is the founder of Nurture Retreats, where she facilitates arts-based programming and cooks sumptuous feasts to inspire and foster connection and creativity. She looks forward to treating you to her homemade baked goods and sharing pictures of her French Spaniel puppy, Molly. 


The Music Ensemble and Concert Coordinator oversees the planning and delivery of concerts and ensemble activities, managing logistics such as scheduling, venues, programs, and communications. The role serves as the central organizer connecting students, faculty, and guest performers to ensure events run smoothly and successfully. In this role, Sonja will get to know students, faculty, performers, and audiences while helping to create a welcoming musical experience for all.
