A study conducted by the Canadian Council for the Blind found that loss of vision is the disability that Canadians fear the most and more than 25% of Canadians have a friend or family member with significant vision loss.
But vision loss doesn’t have to lead to loss of independence.
Join us on Saturday, September 21 for Overcoming Vision Loss, an informative and uplifting event for people with visual impairments and their family, friends and caregivers.
You’ll discover new ways to improve your quality of life and maximize your independence as you:
- Learn more about AMD, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and stroke from School of Optometry & Vision Science experts.
- Discover low vision rehabilitation and assistive technology that may help to enhance your vision and improve your quality of life.
- Get practical tips, advice and resource information from our patient panel.
- See what your optometrist sees as you “explore” the eye in our virtual reality lab.
Overcoming Vision Loss takes place at the School of Optometry & Vision Science. Free parking is available behind the School in Lot X. Limited accessible parking is available outside the clinic entrance at 200 Columbia Street West. This event features auditorium seating. Please call 519-888-4567, ext. 36282 if you require accessible seating.
You can also register by phone at 519-888-4567 ext. 36282
