The White Coat Ceremony for the class of 2022 will be held on Saturday November 3, 2018 at Fed Hall (across campus).  The ceremony will be at 12pm with a light reception to follow.  We will be organizing school tours at the School of Optometry from 10-11am prior to the ceremony.

There will be live streaming for guests who will not be able to attend the ceremony.

You are invited to attend the 2019 Vision Science Graduate Research Conference, taking place on April 15th and 16thin OPT 1129. 

A study conducted by the Canadian Council for the Blind found that loss of vision is the disability that Canadians fear the most and more than 25% of Canadians have a friend or family member with significant vision loss.

But vision loss doesn’t have to lead to loss of independence.

HKSTP Thought-leadership Series: Pioneering vision research for preventing and reversing visual impairment

This virtual seminar on Looking Into the Eyes to Understand the Brain will be presented by Dr. Paul Constable, PhD, BSc (Optom), Cert Ocular Therapuetics. 

Dr. Constable joins us from the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Caring Future Institute, Flinders University, Australia. 

This virtual seminar on Development of antimicrobial contact lenses - from laboratory to clinic and back again will be presented by Dr. Mark Willcox, professor and research director at the School of Optometry and Vision Science, University of New South Wales, Australia.

The Waterloo Eye Institute (WEI) is set to be a national centre of excellence for eye and vision education, patient care and research. With 67,000 square feet of new and renovated space, the WEI will push the boundaries of eye and vision care, clinical education and research to benefit patients in Waterloo region and across the country.
