Special events parking

Planning a special event or meeting? Remember parking!

If you are planning a special event or meeting, which will bring guests to our campus, here are a few things to keep in mind.

  • Over 16,000 people attend class, work or visit the campus throughout the day – every day
  • There are 5500 parking spaces on campus.  Of those total number there are only 238 visitor spaces
  • Most campus parking lots are at capacity from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday

There is a lot of competition for those visitor spaces, so when planning an event, be sure to plan parking at the same time.  Planning for parking goes a long way towards making your guests feel welcome and ensuring a successful event!    When booking a facility on campus you need to remember that parking is not included in that booking and you will need to contact us to ensure we are able to accommodate your specific request.



Planning for parking should begin as soon as you know the date(s) of your event.  Last minute arrangements are often impossible.  Requests must be made no later than 3 weeks prior to your event with no guarantee of space availability.

We can assist you with locating and reserving the available lots closest to your venue, way finding signage, traffic control, special permits and maps.  We will assist with visitor pay parking or space counting to bill back to your departmental account leaving your guests to park free of charge.
