Sustainable Transportation operates 40 parking lots on campus, with 7888 parking spaces for employees, students, and visitors. Payment for parking is due upon arrival at the university.
Visitor lots
Visitor parking is available in several locations across campus in open lots by using the AMP mobile pay app.

Lots B (marked visitor spots at Eng 6), C, CLV, J, N, Q, S, V, W, X, Optometry (visitor), and the Toby Jenkins lot: $7.25 per day

Lot M: $8.30 per day

Physical Activities Centre, Student Life Centre, South Campus Hall, University Club, Davis Centre, General Services Complex, Research Advancement Centre (RAC), Village 1 lots (west and east cul-de-sac): $3.10 per hour ($10 max)

School of Architecture: $7.25 per day (effective September 10, 2025)
The following lots are available as visitor lots Monday – Friday after 4:30 p.m. and on weekends. These lots allow for reservation during visitor hours by Waterloo Departments only:

Lot A: $3.10 per hour (max $10.35). Currently unavailable during construction.

Lot D: $3.10 per hour (max $21.75)*

Lot H: $3.10 per hour (max $14.50)* Available after 6:00 p.m.

Lot R: $3.10 per hour (max $21.75)

If you have any issues operating gated lots, please use the help button located next to the machine or call Sustainable Transportation at 519-888-4567 ext. 33100. Gated lots accept Visa, MasterCard or Debit. We do not accept American Express, Tim Hortons Visa, or Visa Debit.
* After 6:00 p.m. an additional cost of $7.25 will be added.
Residence visitor parking
24-hour parking is available for residence visitors in lots J, S, V, T, UWP, and CLV for $7.25 per day. Visitors can purchase parking through the AMP mobile pay app.
Employee permit lots
Monthly rate: $54.86 plus taxes ($62.00)*
Permits are sold to employees where space is available. Employee lots include:

* For full-time employees or contract employees (minimum four-month period). This cost is also applicable for motorcycle parking.
Unreserved student permit lots
Term rate: $208.50 plus taxes ($235.61)
Permits can be purchased for fall, winter, and spring and are valid for use in lots C, N, W, or X. These lots are mixed-use visitor lots, and parking is not guaranteed in any specific lot. If one lot is full, students will need to try an alternate lot.

Residence permit lots
Term rate: $208.50 (taxes do not apply to residence permits).
All Campus Housing residents can purchase a permit for the following lots: J, S, V, T*, UWP, or Columbia Lake Village-North and South.
Due to high demand for student parking, students who purchase a residence permit are not eligible to also purchase an unreserved permit.
* Minota Hagey residents must come into the Sustainable Transportation Office to purchase permits for lot T, as the e-park system will not allow for online purchasing.

Retiree permit
Term rate: $186 (price includes tax and a 25% discount)
Monthly rate: $54.86 plus taxes ($62.00)
Retirees who continue to work (in a different capacity) can retain their existing lot permit and pay monthly, or purchase a permit for lot X.
