Important parking information:

Over 35,000 people attend class, work or visit the campus every day.

There are 7,888 parking spaces on campus. Only 238 are visitor spaces.

Most campus parking lots are at capacity from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.
Planning an event
If you are planning a special event or meeting which will bring guests to our campus, please plan in advance if you would like to reserve parking spots for them as there is limited visitor parking.

When booking a facility on campus, please remember that parking is not included or guaranteed in your booking. Parking lots can only be booked through Sustainable Transportation.

Planning for parking should begin as soon as you know the date(s) of your event. Requests must be made at least 2 weeks prior to your event.

Reservations
We provide departments with scratch or PDF permits for occasional use. Find out more about reservations.
Special event parking form
The special event parking form is available to our campus colleagues to arrange parking for events. Organizers must provide event details at least 2 weeks in advance.
A University of Waterloo username and password is required to access this form. If you do not have a username and password, please contact Sustainable Transportation.
