The University of Waterloo Co-operative and Experiential Education celebrates International Education Week annually with a international co-op photo contest. Students submit their best photos from their international co-op work term, highlighting different experiences while living and working abroad. More than 60 photos were submitted this year and 10 finalists moved on to the voting round.
This year’s first place winner is Waterloo Pharmacy’s Marcus Yurchuk (Rx2025), for his photo submission of dormant volcano Mount Taranaki in New Zealand. To capture this photo, hikers need to arrive before sunrise to capture the reflection in the water.
