Professor Tom McFarlane receives oncology association preceptor award
The following announcement is provided by the Canadian Association of Pharmacy in Oncology.
Tom McFarlane from the University of Waterloo has been awarded the Preceptor / Mentorship Award by the Canadian Association of Pharmacy in Oncology (CAPhO). The award recognizes McFarlane as a mentor and preceptor and as a member who has sought student engagement within the profession. The award was presented at the CAPhO Virtual Conference 2021, on Saturday, June 5, 2021.
McFarlane was nominated separately by two former students. In nominating McFarlane, Nastaran Keshmiri wrote, “In addition to being an exemplary clinical lecturer at the University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy, McFarlane demonstrates an extraordinary commitment to supporting pharmacy students in other areas of oncology including research, educating students on the role of pharmacists in oncology and as a preceptor and clinical pharmacist at the Odette Cancer Centre.”
