Waterloo Pharmacy soccer team wins 2024 OPA Soccer Cup

The University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy and University of Toronto Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy have gone head-to-head at the annual Soccer Cup since 2015, an event fully organized and led by the students. Waterloo Pharmacy’s team held a 1-0 lead for the majority of the game and took home the trophy for the fourth year in a row in penalty shootouts.

“The Ontario Pharmacists Association (OPA) Cup game against the University of Toronto is always a highly anticipated event by students,” says Viktoria Cubelic says, society of pharmacy students (SOPhS) athletic rep. “There's definitely a little bit of a friendly rivalry but there's always that sense of comradery in the background, and it's a really exciting way to bring both schools together."

The teams headed over to University of Waterloo’s Grad House to celebrate together with student that came to support their peers and cheer them on.

This year Waterloo’s roster included 24 pharmacy students. Congratulations to all the members of the soccer team!
