Hypothetically speaking, what is believed to account for 85% of matter in the Universe? If you answered, DARK MATTER, then you’re exactly the person we’re looking for! If you didn’t… then join us anyway for a fun evening playing online trivia and pretend like you know the answers!
Science Alumnus, Miriam Diamond (MSc '13), Assistant Professor of Astroparticle Physics at the Arthur B. McDonald Canadian Astroparticle Physics Research Institute will be our host for the evening.
Come test your knowledge on one of the most mysterious subjects in the galaxy, as well as enjoy some pop culture references on dark matter. While no physics degrees will be awarded for participating, we can guarantee that you’ll have a fun evening and perhaps come away with one or two facts about Dark Matter you didn’t know before.
Registration is unlimited, so feel free to challenge a friend or two to some friendly competition.
For the best trivia experience, participants are encouraged to download the kahoot! app available through the Apple Store or Google Play.
Registrants will receive a zoom link prior to the event.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
