Next week’s phys 10 lecture is given by Dr. Barak Shoshany, a time travel physicist, from Brock University. Dr. Shoshany uses the concepts of General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics to try to figure out a way to time travel to the future and to the past. I could say he could have the manual of how to become a time traveler.
Dr. Barak Shoshany is a theoretical, mathematical, and computational physicist and an Assistant Professor of Physics at Brock University. His research focuses on the nature of time and causality in general relativity and quantum mechanics, as well as symbolic and high-performance scientific computing. He is also a talented piano player and an orchestra conductor.

I will talk about causality violations (causality is when an event A causes an event B. Its violation would be if they could be reversed -time travel.), in the form of time travel and faster-than-light travel, as they are currently understood in the context of the theories of general relativity and quantum mechanics. Are causality violations pure science fiction, or could they be made into real science.
All are welcome to attend!
The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
