- Ensure your examining committee meets the following criteria:

There must be at least 3 examiners. Additional members may also be included.

Examiner 1 — Regular faculty member from Physics and Astronomy

Examiner 2 — Regular faculty member from the University of Waterloo (any department, including Physics)

Examiner 3 — Regular faculty member from the University of Waterloo (any department, including Physics)*

*For Perimeter Institute Residents, this examiner requirement can be replaced with a PI supervisor who is an adjunct faculty member of the University of Waterloo.

2 examiners must not be the student’s supervisor(s).
- All examiners must hold a PhD or equivalent degree.

- You are responsible for finding a date/time that works with all of your examiners before filling out this form.
- OLD FORMAT: Your examiners must submit their questions and answers to the Graduate Coordinator two weeks prior to the exam.
- NEW FORMAT: Your examiners must review the submitted research proposal and confirm with the Graduate Coordinator at least 48 hours prior to the exam.
