A long-term collaboration with academic partners across France has culminated in a Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Waterloo and the National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology (INRIA).

A University of Waterloo mathematics professor is one of 125 early career Canadian and U.S. researchers selected to receive a 2023 Sloan Research Fellowship.
Sophie Spirkle, an assistant professor of Combinatorics and Optimization, has received the prestigious fellowship from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. She is one of 17 Waterloo faculty members who have received the fellowship since the first Sloan Research Fellowships were awarded in 1955.
