Amendments

Changes to an approved application can be made using the research ethics system.

An amendment request is normally appropriate for minor changes to an approved application. The following are examples of changes that can be made:

  • minor changes in numbers of animals from the number approved by the Animal Care Committee (ACC) in the original application;
  • additions or deletions of personnel associated with the study from those approved by the ACC in the original application;
  • changes, additions or deletions of species where the procedures remain the same as those approved by the ACC in the original application; and
  • minor changes to procedures where the invasiveness category remains the same as that approved in the original application.

All amendments other than those noted above require a new application.
