Harnessing Robotics and AI for Climate Solutions

RoboHub and ESG Partners Inc. are excited to announce their participation in the inaugural Canada Climate Week Xchange (CCWX). As part of this national initiative, RoboHub and ESG Partners will host Harnessing Robotics & AI For Climate Solutions, which aims to explore how robotics and AI can be applied to climate solutions, and how a climate lens can be applied to existing robotics work in areas like healthcare to respond to climate threats.

Harnessing Robotics & AI For Climate Solutions is taking place during CCWX 2025, which runs from November 24 to November 30th.

Evan Ackerman, Senior Editor of IEEE Spectrum and one of this year's Global Engagement Seminar Jarislowski Fellows, will be giving a talk titled “Robots vs Reality: Responsible Science Communication in the Attention Economy” at 4 pm on October 21st in DC 1351.

Tesla Recruitment Sessions

Are you planning to graduate between now and December 2026? Are you looking for a Summer or Fall 2025 co-op position or a full-time role? Then these recruitment sessions are for you!

This visit will include engineers from Tesla focused on Tesla Bot (Optimus) Firmware, Autopilot/Bot Tooling and Integration, and Bot Controls. There will also be refreshments available along with recruitment specialists from Tesla to chat with about potential positions.

Forcen, a robotics sensing company, has received Pre-A $8.5 million funding round as it scales operations for its prototype production facility to support more customers and to continue developing its research and development for its force sensing technology for robots.

The Global Engagement Seminar: Me and My Robot is opening its special lectures to the public for the first time! Join our 2024 Jarislowsky Fellows, leading experts and practitioners in the field, as we explore the social, physical, and practical interfaces between humans and robots and what their presence in our everyday environments will mean for ourselves as individuals and for society more broadly. 

Everyone is welcome - no registration required! 

All lectures are taking place in Engineering 5, Room 3102 and include a talk and Q&A.

University of Waterloo students may soon be able to order pizza or a burger from a nearby plaza and have it brought to campus by Canada’s first all-weather autonomous delivery robot.
