Professor Kerstin Dautenhahn is the Canada 150 Research Chair in Intelligent Robotics and has pioneered research in social robotics, human-robot interaction and assistive robotics.
In the RoboHub, Professor Dautenhahn will investigate the development of companion robots. Companion robots are intelligent and autonomous robots that are able to assist people, i.e. carry out certain useful tasks with or alongside people, but are doing so in a manner that is socially acceptable and trustworthy. The goal is to develop social and intelligent companion robots that can support people in daily living activities or assist in therapeutic or education application contexts.
