Marie Charbonneau

Post-Doctoral Fellow

Dr. Marie Charbonneau
Marie Charbonneau is a post-doctoral fellow in the Human-Centred Robotics and Machine Intelligence Lab. Her research focuses on reliable whole-body control for humanoid robots.

Marie received a BASc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sherbrooke in 2010, leading her to begin her career as a mechanical design and simulation consultant. In 2011, she was introduced to robotics through mentoring for the FIRST Robotics Challenge. This experience encouraged her to undertake a master's in Robotics Engineering through the Erasmus Mundus EMARO program, carried out as a joint degree between the University of Genoa, Warsaw University of Technology, and ETH Zürich.

Most recently, Marie worked as an early-stage researcher at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) in Genoa from 2015 until 2019, while completing a PhD in whole-body control of humanoid robots, then as the RoboHub's first post-doc where she did foundational work with our Humanoid Specialist Alexander Werner on controlling the TALOS robot.
