Professor Yash Vardhan Pant is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Waterloo, where he leads the Control, Learning and Logic (CL2) group. Pant and the CL2 group focus on decision-making for multi-agent and autonomous systems, drawing on elements of Control Theory, Machine Learning, Formal Methods and Optimization and finding application to ground robots, human-robot interaction and swarms of aerial robots.
At the RoboHub, Pant and his group will employ the QDrones to test and develop multi-agent coordination algorithms, as well as for generating data under different operating conditions to support projects on data-driven modeling of aerial robots for computationally lightweight simulations. The team will also use the QBots to develop data-driven models for human-robot interaction.
In addition to these efforts, Pant and his group will also leverage RoboHub's motion-capture system to test the best-case (ideal perception and localization) performance of algorithms being developed for autonomous racing, tested on the f1tenth platform.
See Professor Pant's faculty profile for more details about his work outside of the RoboHub.
