World’s Challenge Challenge 2022 Now Open for Applications!

The World’s Challenge Challenge is an international pitch competition in which teams of two to four students pitch a solution to a global challenge, often one linked to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

To prepare for the global finals held in June, Entrepreneurship @ Environment and the Faculty of Environment are once again hosting the University of Waterloo portion of this competition, searching for a top team to win $3,000 in prize money, and the chance to represent the University of Waterloo at the global finals in June, where they’ll compete for $30,000!

The WCC is open to all students at the University of Waterloo (including undergraduate, graduate, part-time and co-op students). The application process has been designed to be as easy as possible, requiring only a 200-word description of your idea! Applications are due by March 2ndat midnight, and can be completed online at https://entrepreneurshipenvironment.wufoo.com/forms/the-worlds-challenge-challenge/

The UW finals will be held virtually on March 30th, and mentors and advisors are available to help teams prepare! Waterloo teams have traditionally done well at this competition, including WCC global champion “Shecycle” in 2019 and Top 10 Global Finisher “Decomp” in 2021!
