Waterloo’s sixth annual Eco Summit took place on November 20, coinciding with the release of the 2019 Environmental Sustainability Report. The theme, Building Hope, was interwoven with the goals of the Summit to connect with others, celebrate our progress and be inspired to go further.
Waterloo is excited to announce that it has earned a Silver rating on the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment, and Rating System (STARS), a comprehensive reporting framework for post-secondary institutions. The rating recognizes Waterloo’s progress and actions across academics, campus operations, community engagement, and campus planning and governance.
The Sustainability Action Fund has granted funding for three new projects on campus in spring 2018. The funds will support new Signage in the Arts / Environment garden, library waste receptacles, and the creation of a sustainability guide.
