Jana plays a key role in driving campus sustainability efforts, ensuring they align with the University's Environmental Sustainability Strategy. She actively engages in projects that address climate change, managing waste, conserving water, and enhancing sustainable transportation options. Jana also supports initiatives such as curriculum integration, event coordination, resource development, and community engagement to promote sustainability across campus like the Sustainability Leadership Certificate.
Jana is a second-year Honours Environment and Business co-op student at the University of Waterloo.

Her academic goals reflect a strong commitment to understanding and addressing global environmental challenges through sustainable business practices. Jana brings hands-on experience from co-founding the Eco-Clean environmental clean-up club, where she contributed to local ecological restoration projects and waste reduction efforts. Additionally, she promoted sustainable food distribution and reducing food waste through community engagement at Al Dar Foundation’s food bank in Mississauga, ON.
Jana enjoys camping and swimming with her friends and family, activities that involve her being with the natural environment. Jana is excited to collaborate with the Sustainability Office, focusing on integrating sustainability into the campus curriculum and engaging students through green programs. She is particularly enthusiastic about promoting the Sustainability Leadership Certificate, empowering students to become sustainability leaders and contribute to a more environmentally conscious campus community.
