Abstract | …The main focus of our research is to determine whether clotheslines are a feasible alternative to clothes dryers, in order to help reduce greenhouse emissions. On a larger scale, we are looking to find out whether reduction in dryer use can cut down on emissions in order to help Canada meet its commitment to the Kyoto Protocol of 2001. We have also attempted to find out if clotheslines are a feasible alternative to clothes dryers in terms of societal reactions and if clotheslines will be accepted in a modern North American community.
