As per information in the Undergraduate Calendar or online (under Faculty of Engineering):
"To achieve this standing for a particular term, students must be unconditionally promoted at the end of the term, and have their term average minus their percentile rank from the top for that academic term greater than or equal to 80. Students not in the top 10% of their class are normally not eligible."
So, if you know your ranking then you can do the calculation to determine whether or not you qualify for DHL.
The designation will appear on your grade report and official university transcript.
Graduate on the DHL:
"If you have been on the "Dean's Honours List" for at least two terms of the six academic terms preceding graduation, and have a cumulative average over these last six academic terms of at least 80% you will "Graduate on the Dean's Honours List"."
This will be recorded on your official transcript.
Determining Dean's Honours List and Graduating on the DHL is a process that is tied in with the ranking process. Therefore, DHL info will not be available until approximately one month after official marks are released except in the winter term where DHL and Graduating on the DHL info is required earlier due to convocation deadlines.
