Presently, economic Demand Response (DR) is procured based solely on energy market characteristics. There is no recognition of DR’s full and unusual impacts on energy markets, and lack of recognition of DR suppliers’ surplus. This incomplete understanding results in inefficient market outcomes and waste.

In 2019, Africa accounted for only 5% of global energy demand and 3.7% of energy-related carbon dioxide emissions. However, global projections show that Africa’s rapid urbanisation will contribute to rising energy use and emissions, both regionally and globally.

A constant problem in Esports is that players do not perform to their expected potential when under stress (also known as choking). In the literature, training under stress is a well-known choking intervention that has worked in other domains (e.g., traditional sports and the military).
