Requests to change a final examination date are granted only for documented illness or exceptional circumstances outside your control. Elective arrangements (such as travel plans, coop interviews, weddings or social events) are not acceptable reasons. The decision to grant a request is up to your instructor and/or the department. The form must be submitted no later than four weeks before your final examination date.
If you require an alternate final examination date and live within 100 km of Waterloo, you will be required to write during one of the alternate final examination sessions on-campus.
If an alternate final examination date is granted, a $50 administration charge may apply.
Complete the Final Examination Change Request Form (below) and include the appropriate documentation. We will review your request with your instructor and contact you when a decision has been made. We will not contact you until after the final examination schedule has been released.
