Do you have questions about when your tuition and fees will be posted, what some of the charges mean or how you can pay? You may find the answers in the "at a glance" information below, or on the Student Financial Services web pages. If you have questions, ask The Centre and we'd be happy to help you.
What fees will I be charged for?
-
Tuition fees are assessed based on your domestic residency status or international immigration status. They also differ depending on what program you are registered in, whether you are attending full-time or part-time, etc. Find out more about tuition fees.
-
Incidental fees are non-tuition fees charged to your student account each term to fund various services and facilities at the University of Waterloo. The fees are broken into three categories: compulsory, optional and voluntary. Find out more about incidental fees.
-
University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) and Student health & dental insurance. Some of these charges may be automatically applied to your account, depending on your immigration status or whether or not you are covered by other provincial health plans. Find out more about UHIP and Student health and dental insurance plans.
When are tuition and fees posted, and where?
-
Tuition and incidental fees are posted to your Quest account approximately one month prior to the beginning of your admit term.
-
Student Financial Services has an Interactive Tuition Fee Estimator that will allow you to receive an estimate of your future tuition, incidental and residence fees and meal plan.
How do I pay my fees and when?
-
Pay your fees in full by the due date, or let us know how you will become "fees arranged" by submitting a Promissory Note.
-
Payments and Promissory Notes received after the term due date will result in a Fees Arranged Extension Fee charged to your student account, so be sure to pay your tuition and fees on time.
What other information about tuition and fee payment would be good to know?

You may be eligible for a tuition discount or waiver if you are a UWaterloo employee or dependent, a senior or an Indigenous student.
