United Way workplace campaign goal is $260,000

Tuesday, September 29 signaled the launch of the University of Waterloo’s 2015 United Way workplace campaign. An annual tradition, students, staff and faculty supported the initiative by wearing red and decorating their workplaces to celebrate the wellbeing of our community.

The United Way of Kitchener Waterloo & Area officially launched the start of their workplace campaign this past Saturday, September 19, at the Waterloo Region International Airport.  This year’s goal has been set at $5,075,750 after surpassing the $5 million goal set last year.

Waterloo Warriors Take First Place at United Way’s Community Kickoff

Saturday morning during the United Way KW & Area campaign kickoff at Waterloo Regional International airport the Waterloo Men's Basketball team competed against seven teams from local companies and businesses, working together to pull a Nolinor 737 airplane.

Our team crossed the finish line fastest to claim the Plane Pull Trophy. A team from event sponsor Manulife was not far behind..

Total raised: $255,000 - just over 5% of Kitchener-Waterloo’s $5,000,000 total. This makes the University of Waterloo’s campaign the fourth largest workplace campaign in the region.
