The media relations team has extensive experience in dealing with print and broadcast media at a local, national and international level and regularly deal with journalists. The team will consult with units across campus to help develop a media handling approach.
Please contact the team for templates to help you prepare for dealing with issues. Please be prepared to provide the media relations team with the following when dealing with potentially controversial issues:
- Full contact information for the parties involved, including mobile phones
- Two or three paragraphs of succinct background information
- A timetable of events so someone coming into the subject new can see and understand at a glance how the issue has evolved
- Questions that you wouldn’t want to be asked about the issue
