The Road Less Coded: Inspiring Career Journeys at OpenText
Join us for an inspiring event hosted by WiCS and OpenText. This special panel features Shannon Bell (EVP, CDO & CIO), Lise Lefaive (VP, IT PMO), and Chantelle Slater-Shaw (VP, Corporate IT Applications) as they explore the concept of career pathing. This is your opportunity to learn how to navigate your own unique career journey—whether that means changing directions, overcoming challenges, or breaking into new roles. Join Little WiCS at the WiCS Lifting Session to work out with the guidance from UWaterloo Personal Trainers! Whether you’re looking to learn more about lifting or have fun with your friends, we look forward to seeing you there!

Volunteer with WiCS at the Technovation Girls Mini-Hackathon!
Join us in supporting young girls and gender-diverse individuals (ages 11-18) as they explore tech entrepreneurship and develop solutions for global challenges!
Volunteers will help with event setup, guide teams, and assist participants through the challenge. No experience is required—just a passion for inspiring the next generation of innovators!
Volunteer Opportunities:
Below you will find a list of the volunteer roles and shifts we are looking to fill (note we will need multiple volunteers for each role/shift).
Program Volunteer: Volunteers who work directly with students to help them with their projects, and the activities.

Shift 1: 8:30 am – 1:00 pm

Shift 2: 12:30 pm – 5:00 pm
Logistics Volunteer: Volunteers who help with the organizational/background tasks (e.g., set-up, registration, clean-up, etc.) may also help guide participants in the activities.

WiCS Study Room
Important Update: Although the bridge between MC and DC is closing, the WiCS Study Room will remain open throughout the term! It's a quiet and welcoming spot for focused study—come by and take advantage of this peaceful space!
Fob Access (Fall 2024): To gain access to the study room for the Fall 2024 term, please complete the fob request form linked below. The WiCS Event Coordinator will inform you via email when your fob is ready for pickup.

The Laurier Centre for Women in Science is pleased to invite you to a conversation with Dr. Catherine Mavriplis, Professor of Mechanincal Engineering, author and former NSERC Chair for Women in Science and Engineering at University of Ottawa.
