For the first time since the disease was identified by Dr. George Huntington in 1872, there is hope for treatments that target the root cause of HD, providing the HD Community with "hearts full of hope."
Alumnus Fiona Brinkman, PhD (BSc Biochemistry '90) will be awarded a Distinguished Alumni Award this year. Fiona Brinkman is a Distinguished Professor in Bioinformatics and Genomics at Simon Fraser University, most known for R&D of widely used computer software that aids more integrative analyses of microbe and human genomics data.
During her visit to campus, prior to the award ceremony, she will participate in a Meet & Greet and HeForShe event.
