Brief description of the organization

Haíɫzaqv Climate Action is a non-profit organization working to advance clean energy solutions, promote energy sovereignty, and combat climate change for the Heiltsuk Nation.


Problem area

The central problem is the reliance on diesel fuel for energy in the Haíɫzaqv community, which poses economic, environmental, and social challenges.


Main objectives

  • Conduct a pre-feasibility study for hydrogen production using hydroelectric power.

  • Evaluate technical, economic, and environmental aspects of the project.

  • Foster energy sovereignty for the Haíɫzaqv community.

  • Engage stakeholders to build support and partnerships.
