Commercial real estate owners are under pressure from tenants, investors, and regulators to obtain green building certifications (LEED, BOMA BEST, WELL). Achieving these certifications requires navigating complex requirements and fragmented incentives. SMEs occupying these buildings are indirectly exposed to higher costs when certifications lag.
Owners struggle to know which certifications to pursue, what upgrades are needed, and what ROI to expect. Certification is costly, confusing, and time-consuming. Without structured guidance, many owners delay or avoid certifications, reducing asset value and tenant competitiveness.
Main objectives
Leverage agentic AI to build a tool that uses open energy, building, and zoning datasets to assess buildings against certification requirements. It should generate a roadmap of needed upgrades, estimated costs, ROI, achievable certification levels, and available incentives. It also must connect owners to vetted solution providers and produce draft compliance documentation.
