The Department of Cheical Engineering welcomes you to a seminar by Dr. Youri Gendal from Technion - Israel Institute of Tehnology, who will be speaking about a catalytic hydrogenation treatment process that may provide an economical and practical solution to groundwater, and specifically nitrate, pollution.

You are welcome to attend Zachary Cano's PhD defence, in which he will discuss his research into the viability of zinc-air batteries in electric vehicles, including the investigation of the use of nickel-based air electrodes.

You are welcome to attend Moon Gyu Park's PhD defence, in which they will discuss the use of bifunctional oxygen catalysts to enhance Zn-air battery performances.

You are invited to attend Yael Izamal Valdez Navarro's MASc oral exam, where they will present a decomposition algorithm for obtaining robust scheduling and control decisions. It iteratively solves scheduling and dynamic optimization problems while approximating stochastic uncertainty through back-off terms, calculated through dynamic simulations of the process. 

The Department of Chemical Engineering invites you to a seminar about plant design by Elmo Nasato, who is a specialist in the sulfur recovery industry.

Help the students from CHE 180: Chemical Engineering Design Studio celebrate the completion of their 1A term and their introduction to design by attending their Design Symposium, where they will showcase the range of soaps they designed and produced during their course.

You are welcome to attend Pan Xu's PhD defence, in which they will discuss their research into platinum group metal-free (PGM-free) catalyst synthesis for the oxygen reduction reaction in proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells.

You are invited to join the Department of Chemical Engineering for a seminar, titled Polymer Membranes for Gas Separations, by Dr. Jeong-Hoon Kim. He is the Head/Research Fellow at the Greenhouse Gas Separation and Recovery Research Group in the C1 Gas Separation and Conversion Research Center of the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology’s Carbon Resources Institute.
