Chemical Engineering Graduate Student Association

All registered graduate students in the CHE department are considered members of CEGSA

What is CEGSA:

CEGSA is the graduate student association for all CHE graduate students. We represent CHE grads at the graduate student association (GSA) level and at the CHE department level where we seek the best interest of  CHE grad students. We also aim to promote interactions between all CHE graduate students through a variety of events all year round (be on the lookout for them!).

Role of CHE:

  • Promote social interaction among members, particularly between different research groups and M.Eng students.
  • Work closely with our faculty and staff to ensure CHE grad students' concerns are considered (academic, administrative, and otherwise).
  • Participate in the affairs and development of policies affecting graduate students at the University of Waterloo.

A message from the President - Sarah Rezaei

Email: cegsa@uwaterloo.ca

"As President of the Chemical Engineering Graduate Student Association (CEGSA), I am honored to represent our vibrant graduate student community. My name is Sarah Rezaei, and since December, I have had the privilege of working alongside an exceptional team of executives to serve the graduate students in our department.

Our association is built on the foundational principles of promoting social interaction, facilitating information exchange, and ensuring strong representation in university policy developments. Through our dedicated executive team, we organize various events throughout the year - from academic workshops and professional development sessions to social gatherings that help build lasting connections among our peers.

CEGSA is committed to being your voice in the department and at the university level. We actively participate in departmental meetings, collaborate with the Graduate Student Association (GSA), and work to address the diverse needs of our MASc, MEng, and PhD students. Whether you're seeking academic support, looking to expand your professional network, or wanting to connect with fellow graduate students, CEGSA provides the platform and resources to help you succeed.

I encourage you to take advantage of our initiatives and get involved in our community. Your participation and feedback are vital in shaping CEGSA's activities and ensuring we continue to meet the evolving needs of our graduate student body. Together, we can create an inclusive, supportive, and dynamic environment that enriches everyone's graduate school experience.

Remember, CEGSA is your association, and we are here to support your journey through graduate studies. Feel free to reach out to any of our executive members with your ideas, concerns, or if you simply want to learn more about getting involved.

Let's work together to make your time in Chemical Engineering at the University of Waterloo both rewarding and memorable."
