Featuring a keynote presentation by Mary Wells, PhD, Dean of Engineering at the University of Waterloo, the workshop will follow up on a survey distributed to University of Waterloo graduate students during Fall 2019 - Winter 2020. The purpose of this workshop is to share the results of this survey, and to discuss methods and next steps to enhance the graduate engineering student experience. Breakout groups will discuss topics such as student support and resource availability, among other themes.
This workshop is hosted by an interdisciplinary team of researchers from the University of Waterloo and York University. Our joint team has been investigating gender differences in engineering for the past few years, focusing on strategies for improving student retention.
