You are invited to attend Zhen Ye's MASc oral exam where they will discuss their research on Techno-economic and Life Cycle Assessment of Airport Hydrogen Production Infrastructure for Future Hydrogen-based Aviation in Canada.
Abstract:
Hydrogen aviation fuel faces cost and infrastructure barriers, especially in production and distribution. This study explores on-site hydrogen production at airports using RES and grid power to reduce reliance on external supply. A MILP model identifies optimal designs with a base-case LCOH of $7.36/kg LH2.
LCA results show a CI of 1.47–4.16 kg CO₂-eq/kg for RES only cases.
