David Alejandro Linan Romero will be defending his thesis conducted under the supervision of Professor Luis Ricardez-Sandoval.
This thesis introduces new MINLP algorithms to tackle chemical engineering optimization problems. It innovates by incorporating novel mathematics principles in decision-making integration, such as discrete convex analysis and logic-based benders decomposition. The proposed algorithms outperform general-purpose MINLP solvers in terms of solution time and objective function value.
