Abstract

Electrocatalysis plays an essential role in electrochemical energy conversion and storage, enabling a number of sustainable processes for future technologies. The grand challenge is to develop advanced electrocatalysts with enhanced activity, selectivity and durability. This thesis studies advanced catalyst design strategies on porous carbon-based metal nanocomposites for efficient and durable electrochemical transformation including oxygen, sulfur and CO2 electrocatalysis.
