Undergraduate Lecture - “Energy Balances for Reactive Processes”, by Sarah Meunier, Sessional Lecturer, Department of Chemical Engineeirng, University of Waterloo

Wednesday, January 10, 2018 1:00 pm - 1:00 pm EST (GMT -05:00)

Biosketch:

Since developing a biocatalytic packed bed reactor for biodiesel production during her PhD research at the University of Waterloo, Sarah has been a research associate with Trojan Technologies in London, Ontario and a sessional lecturer at the University of Waterloo. Sarah’s post-doctoral research involves the development of ultraviolet reactors as an alternative technology to prevent contamination incidents in the biopharmaceutical industry, while maintaining the nutritive integrity of cell culture media. In addition to her PhD, Sarah holds two bachelor’s degrees (Chemical Engineering and Computing Technology) and a master’s degree (Chemical Engineering) from the University of Ottawa. As a lecturer, Sarah has taught chemistry for engineers, chemical engineering concepts, and introduction to process control. She enjoys the challenge of helping new undergraduate students assimilate to the engineering culture, and using innovative teaching approaches to train engineers.
