Undergraduate Lecture |  Newtonian and Non-Newtonian Fluid: Concepts and Applications by, Sangchul Roh

Monday, May 2, 2022 3:00 pm - 3:45 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)

The Chemical Engineering Department is hosting a special undergraduate seminar about Newtonian and Non-Newtonian Fluid: Concepts and Applications.
Abstract:

Many fluids closely related to our daily lives consist of non-Newtonian fluids (e.g., toothpaste, blood, paint and yogurt). It is essential to understand those fluids’ properties to process non-Newtonian fluids in the chemical engineering industry. In this lecture, the concepts and applications of non-Newtonian fluids will be introduced. The goal of this lecture is to learn the following:

  1. The difference between Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids
  2. Types of non-Newtonian fluid
  3. Industrial applications of non-Newtonian fluids
