The Department of Chemical Engineering welcomes Canadian Light Source’s Senior Staff Scientist Yongfeng Hu for a seminar about hard x-ray photoemission spectroscopy. All are welcome.

With rapidly mounting environmental concerns coupled with the accelerated depletion of fossil fuels, there is a significant demand for the development of advanced technologies for environmental remediation, as well as for the production of alternative energy transformation and storage devices. Nanostructured materials with high surface areas have garnered significant interest due to their unique properties and numerous impressive applications spanning electrocatalysis, photocatalysis, energy conversion and storage, sensors, and wastewater remediation.

The Department of Chemical Engineering is hosting the PhD defence of Maryam Omidvarm, a PhD candidate from the University at Buffalo, Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering.

Committee members:

  • Dr. Haiqing Lin (Advisor)
  • Dr. Chong Cheng
  • Dr. Mark Swihart

Please join the Department of Chemical Engineering on Monday, May 6, for a seminar by Dr. Barbara Chan, a  professor from the University of Hong Kong’s Biomedical Engineering Programme. She will speak about her research team's multiphoton-based 3D microprinting technology's capability to fabricate complex protein microstructures and micropatterns.
