Thirty-five teams of fourth-year Chemical Engineering students shared the results of their Capstone Design project with fellow classmates, faculty, family and friends at this year’s Capstone Design Symposium in Engineering 6 on March 11, 2019.
The Symposium was an exciting conclusion to the past two years they have spent researching and attempting to solve some of the challenges our world faces. Each team conceptualized and designed a solution to a problem of their choice.
Whether their project aimed to improve an industrial process, enhance healthcare options or protect the environment, among other things, their work provided hands-on opportunities to use the information and enhance the skills they had learned in classrooms and on co-op jobs over their undergraduate studies. It also reinforced the concepts of team work, project management, research and development.
Outstanding Achievement
The excitement of presenting their projects was multiplied by friendly competition for numerous awards available to Capstone Design teams from across the Faculty of Engineering and within the Department of Chemical Engineering. Thank you to the sponsors of these awards – and special congratulations to the award-winning teams for their Capstone Design achievements.
