The 2015-2016 Murray Moo-Young Biotechnology Scholarship has been awarded to two Chemical Engineering students: Brandon Seo, a MASc student who is being supervised by Professor Ting Tsui, and Adam Westbrook, a PhD student who is being supervised by Professor Perry Chou.
The Murray Moo-Young Biotechnology Scholarship was established in 1982 with a donation by Distinguished Professor Emeritus Murray Moo-Young to encourage research of bioprocessing strategies in industrial biomanufacturing and environmental bioremediation.
New and continuing graduate students who are pursuing studies in biotechnology and/or biochemical engineering are eligible for this scholarship. Applicants must have high academic credentials, and a significant portion of their research must involve the direct use of biological materials or contain a significant level of relevance to bio-engineering.
Brandon and Adam impressed the Chemical Engineering department’s evaluation committee with their applications and research performance this year. They will have the opportunity to celebrate their awards at the annual Engineering Awards Dinner, to be hosted by the Faculty of Engineering this fall.
